Hey there! My name is Camy and this is my story. I am the voice and photographer of One Simple Feast. I live in Lake Tahoe, California in a little town called Truckee, a mountain girl with a coastal heart that I share with my toughest cooking critic/husband/best friend/official leftover eater, Ridge.
We are Maryland (Eastern Shore) natives with several lonnng stints in Colorado before we landed here in the California Sierras with our 2 boys + golden dog Tundra. I love that we have lived all over (honesty clause: I am completely restless & can not stay put long). We have friends & family in all corners of the country and I just love that diversity in terms of friendship, food, lifestyle, traditions, climate, attitude etc. We are pretty proud to be Marylander’s but totally in love with the West. I’d say the one BIG thing that brings us all together, that ties us to all these people and places is good food & outdoor adventures whether on the lake, skiing & hiking the mountains, boating the Chesapeake or beaching in the sand just about anywhere.
If you follow me frequently you know that I am the mama of 2 fun & crazy, wild BOYS>> Tucker (3) + Hawken (8). They keep me very busy but Ridge and I strive to live a lifestyle that I would say is a bit different from the norm. We’ve chosen to put our boys, where we live and the quality of our life at the top of our priorities. 
Though it is not always the most affordable, economical or logistically feasible but for us, it is all about making the most out of our days. We choose to work hard and play hard and feel that although we could live cheaper somewhere else or make wayyy more money doing other things, we choose to do and stay where it makes us most happy at the moment. For now, we call Tahoe home and have aspirations of boat living (cruising) the Caribbean for a few years before the kids get too big. We eat well and we travel often, always with money saving in mind. I hope to share with you our culinary explorations and family adventures as often as I can.
Yep, I am professionally trained in Food & Wine with a business degree in Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management + a little Resort Marketing to boot. There are those that would say I never used my degree but I feel like I use it all the freakin time! I worked in the ski resort industry for a long time, did a couple year stint in the farmers’ market local food industry with my own business and then started this food blog to help combine ALL of these passions + to help share my own recipes and help inspire you to live the simple + beautiful life in your happy place.
Here at One Simple Feast we are all about happy people together being + feeling + eating + adventuring. Because FOOD + PLAY make people HAPPY.
